Current Projects
Eastern Cape Broadband Initiative: The Eastern Cape ICT Working Group is the the driving vehicle towards the achievement of the Broadband Initiative in the Province. The Working Group is constituted by the following entities:

Eastern Cape Tertiary Institutions

The targeted Phase 1 of the National Broadbrand Policy (SAConnect) in the Eastern Cape is the NHI Health facilities within the OR Tambo District Municipality. The phase 1 of this project is informed by the Eastern Cape Broadband Master Plan.
Provincial VPN: The Provincial Wide Area Network (WAN) linking all the 13 Provincial Departments including the Legislature is being upgraded to an MPLS Virtual Private Network (VPN) with SITA as the leading implementation State Owned Entity (SOC) for the project.
Provincial ICT Shared Services: This is a business model that enables resources to be leveraged across an entire Provincial Administration resulting in lower costs with agreed upon customer-service levels. This will utilize the COBIT 5 enablers as the guiding framework.
